This exceptional program brings together time-tested reading skills instruction, great books, and an experienced, inspiring teacher from the Institute of Reading Development, a leader in live online education for children. This one-of-a-kind combination makes learning to read easy and fun and sets every child up for success.

In this program, your child will:

  • Read five great books at the right level of difficulty
  • Learn core phonics and sight word skills
  • Build reading comprehension
  • Feel confident and excited about learning to read

Once a week, your child will attend a face-to-face online class with an expert teacher, where students can see, hear, and speak with each other. Between classes, students complete fun interactive skills lessons that they can do independently, plus structured reading practice with lots of support.

With over 18 hours of instruction and activities, your child will build skills week after week. To help you during these challenging times, we are offering the program at a reduced price.

The Right Skills

Students in this program learn important first-grade reading skills and increase their confidence before going back to school.

Phonics

Your child will learn first-grade phonics, the most important skill for beginning readers. Students are excited to learn how to sound out words easily and accurately in lessons tailored to their skill level.

Sight Words

Your child will learn to recognize words like ‘have’ and ‘was’ by sight. By the end of the program, students know how to read more than a third of the words in first-grade books without having to sound them out.

Comprehension

Under the guidance of an expert teacher, your child will learn to recognize story structure, identify with characters, and follow events.

Independent Reading

The best way to become a stronger reader is to read a lot! Independent reading practice builds strong skills, as well as confidence and motivation. Your child will get a big head start on next year.
